Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the information those services share (typically name and email).

Profile Information. You may provide additional information such as your name, life area focus, current emotional state, and personal hopes or goals. This information is used to personalize your experience.

User Content. We collect the letters you write, messages in AI conversations, and milestones you record. This content is stored securely and is essential to providing the core features of the App.

Device Information. We collect device identifiers, operating system version, and push notification tokens to deliver notifications and maintain App functionality.

Usage Data. We collect analytics data including screens viewed, features used, and interaction patterns. This data is collected through Firebase Analytics and is used to improve the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Provide and maintain the App — storing your letters, delivering them on unlock dates, facilitating AI conversations, and tracking milestones.
• AI-Powered Features — your letter content and conversation messages are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate personalized responses, detect milestones, and analyze sentiment. We send only the minimum content necessary for these features.
• Push Notifications — to notify you when letters unlock and to send milestone reminders.
• Analytics — to understand how the App is used, identify issues, and improve the user experience.
• Subscription Management — to process and manage your subscription through Apple's App Store.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google) — for authentication, database storage (Firestore), cloud functions, push notifications (FCM), and analytics. Firebase Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI — for AI-powered conversation features, milestone detection, and sentiment analysis. Your letter content and messages are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. • Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — for authentication. These services share only the information you authorize during sign-in.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase's cloud infrastructure. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) for all data transmissions.
• Firestore security rules that restrict data access to authenticated users viewing only their own data.
• Secure handling of API keys and secrets through Google Cloud Secret Manager.

While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. Your letters, messages, and milestones are retained indefinitely unless you delete them. You may delete individual letters and milestones within the App at any time.

If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion — request deletion of your personal data and account.
• Data Portability — request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Opt-out of Analytics — you may disable analytics collection through your device settings.
• Push Notifications — you may disable push notifications through your device settings at any time.

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our service providers (Firebase, OpenAI) maintain servers. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or through push notification. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
